Some of our eligibility criteria are not breed specific. They're more to do with your pet's lifestyle and reflect our goals to support pet parents to raise the happiest and healthiest pets possible.
We don't insure pets who:
Have been used for breeding
Have attacked or bitten a person or animal
Can be considered as 'working pets' with any business, commercial, trade or working history
Can be considered a gundog, or connected with shooting, pointing, or fieldwork
Have been declined by an insurer or had their pet insurance cancelled
Are not vaccinated against distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis and parvovirus (dogs), and feline infectious enteritis, feline herpes virus, feline calicivirus, and (if at risk) feline leukaemia virus (cats)
Our eligibility criteria for pet owners:
You must be aged 18 or over and a permanent resident in the UK
You must be the owner of your pet and it must live with you at the address you've given us
You must have never been declined insurance for your pet or had your pet insurance cancelled
You must not be legally banned from keeping animals
You must not have any unspent convictions for any kind of offence involving dishonesty, fraud or any crime under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 or the Animal Welfare Act 2006
